This is a recipe that I learned from my Mom. Pork tenderloin is not the cheapest cut of meat, so watch for it to go on sale and you will be able to make this delicious recipe.
It’s a great one for summer as it uses the crock pot instead of the oven or stove – anything to keep the house cool during a Kansas summer!
1 – 1 lb. pork tenderloin
1 cup ketchup
2 tbsp. plus 1 ½ tsp. brown sugar
2 tbsp. plus 1 ½ tsp. cider vinegar
1 tbsp. plus 1 ½ tsp. Worcestershire sauce
¼ tsp. pepper
Cut the tenderloin in half; place in a 3 qt. slow cooker. Combine the ketchup, brown sugar, vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, mustard and pepper; pour over pork.
Cover and cook on low for 4 – 5 hours or until meat is tender. Remove meat; shred with 2 forks. Return to slow cooker; heat through. Serve on rolls.

This sounds good! When you said that pork tenderloin isn’t a cheap cut of meat, I wanted to mention that pork *loin* can be very affordable. Sams always has a pretty good price, but I’ve gotten it for as low as $1.88/lb on sale at the grocery store. I cut roasts and chops from a whole loin, and it works just as well for recipes like this one.
Thanks for the great idea, Terri! I had no idea!
