Introduction
Remembering our Goals
Another way that I have learned to remain encouraged, optimistic, and content is to always be looking to learn. This is something that is still very difficult for me, but is something that I am working very hard on. In every time of struggle or hardship, I try to ask myself what God wants me to be learning through the experience. I believe that he can use any experience to teach us if we are open and willing to learn.
For example, a little less than a year ago our husband and I were in a situation that was very difficult and discouraging for us. Rather than wallow in feelings of helplessness, I chose to look for the lessons. When they whole situation was over with and I was given time to reflect, I realized how much I had learned and we had grown. Cole had been called on to stand strong for what he believed was right. Because I knew I could trust his leading, I learned how to step back from emotionally trying times and to lean on the strength that he had to offer. I learned through experience a great deal about how I function as the wife in our marriage. The whole experience strengthened our bond as we were pulled together in prayer. Wow! Was it awesome to see the lessons that God had for us and the tremendous blessings we experienced as a result of some very trying and tiring days.
I am still very new at this, but am so blessed to be surrounded by women who look for the lessons in the hard times as a natural response. Hopefully, the more I spend time around these Godly woman, the more I will pick up on the habit of seeking the growth opportunities that are disguised as difficult and discouraging times in life.

What a great post! :0) You are so right. Make lemons out of lemonade…Jesus is the sugar. =)
