Looking Back

Looking back over this semester, I can think of several things that I did that made it easier to make the transition into my first semester of teaching special education. Here are some of the things that helped me and I believe could be helpful to others who are facing large life transitions:

1. Have several meals prepared before the school year started and planned for the simple preparation of additional meals throughout the semester. By simplifying the meal plans preparation became easier.

2. Accept help from my husband. Let him help me make meals and clean the house. I am truly blessed by a husband who will gladly help around the house!

3. Take good care of myself: drink daily water, take my vitamin, eat a balanced diet, and sleep as needed.

4. Accept that I will not be perfect. Rest only in the perfection of my Adonai!

5. Keep it all simple. Simple schedule, simple housekeeping, simple meals, and enjoyment of simple pleasures.
