Dawn Dishsoap gets used all over this house! It is biodegradable and contains no phosphates making it healthy for use all over the home. And…..it’s gentle on hands and powerful on grease!

I purchased this bottle for $8.39 at Costco; since it is highly concentrated I only ever use it in diluted quantities. Here are some ways that we put this amazing soap to work in our house:

1. In the old soap dispensers as liquid hand soap. I use a one-to-one ratio of soap and water in this mix.

2. In the soap dispenser attached to the sink to wash dishes. I use a one-to-one ratio of soap and water in this mix.

3. In a spray bottle to clean counters, floors, etc. I use the ratio of one part soap to three parts water in this mix.

4. It can also be used (though not highly recommended) to wash hair that is super greasy. I don’t mean as a daily shampoo, but in cases where a person needs a super deep cleaning every month or so.

Bonus #5. It makes excellent bubbles as my students at school have learned!

I can buy a 90 oz bottle at Costco for $8.39. Using one-one or one-three ratios, I am expecting that bottle to last us for years! That’s a super frugal choice if you ask me.

Dawn is awesome! I use it for cleaning Gabe’s bathtub and washing his potty so that he’s not sitting in yucky chemicals.

Our family is a big fan of Dawn too! Thanks for a few tips on stretching the bottle.

I love all of the great ideas on your site and look forward to trying them. Do you have anything for using in place of dishwasher detergent that is better for you, and also easy on my pocketbook?
    Thanks!

This is something that I am still working on finding. Most recipes that I have found include borax; I’m just not sure that borax is truly safe to use, especially not around food. I will definitely post when I find something – it will be a very exciting day here at our house!
