White Bread – Makes 4 Loaves

This is the bread we use for everything! It’s great for sandwiches and toast. It also make the best grilled cheese ever!! I hope that you thoroughly enjoy this recipe!

350 degrees, 30-35 minutes

Dissolve:
2 packages dry yeast
1/2 cup warm water
1 1/2 t. sugar

Combine in Mixer Bowl:
1/2 c. sugar
1 T. salt
1/4 c. shortening
3 c. warm water
yeast mixture (from above)
5 c. flour

Beat with electric mixer and then add 6 c. flour. Knead 5 minutes.

Cover and let rise 1/2 hour.

Punch down and let rise until doubled. Put in 4 greased loaf pans. Cover with towel until doubled in size. Bake.
