Last year my husband bought me a wooden cutting board that fits into one of my sinks. I love it – it has been such a wonderful and useful tool in my kitchen.

The only problem with a wooden cutting board is that they get dried out which makes it easy to crack. This is a really easy problem to correct though! Simply rub a little bit of wooden board oil onto the board. You can purchase the oil at Amazon or other home goods stores. This is the oil that we have:

I wipe it on with a soft rag and sub it until it all works into the board. To get the oil rubbed into the deep crevices I use an old toothbrush to scrub the oil in.

Using this method you can get a long lifetime out of your wonderful wooden cutting board!
