Gravy (for Biscuits and Gravy!)

1 lb. breakfast sausage
ΒΌ c. flour
2 c. milk
salt and pepper to taste

Cook sausage in skillet. When done remove and pour off all but two T. of fat. Whisk flour into the fat and cook over low heat for 5 minutes. Remove pan from heat and whisk in milk a little at a time. Return to medium-high heat and stir occasionally while the gravy comes to a simmer and thickens. Check seasoning, add sausage and serve over biscuits.

You can also make this recipe without the sausage for a less expensive and less fatty option.

Thanks for the recipe! I’ve never been brave enough to make gravy from scratch. I used it this morning to make homemade gravy for the first time. Tasted great!
