I cannot take credit for this trick….I learned it from my mother-in-law.
In the home goods section of a store like Walmart or Bed, Bath, and Beyond you can purchase bowl covers that are plastic with elastic around the bottoms. These are usually several dollars for less than ten covers.
Or….in the personal care section of the store you can purchase disposable shower caps; you can get 20 or more or around a dollar. They don’t have cute patterns and they only come in one size, but they do the same job!
We cover mixing bowls in the fridge.
We cover bread dough while it rises.
We cover leftovers in bowls in the fridge.
And, unlike the expensive covers, they can cover our entire deep dish pizza pan!

They used to make “quick covers” by Saran wrap I believe. I always thought they looked like shower caps and thought shower caps would work just as well. Very creative!

You might want to make sure that the shower caps are food-grade plastic. With some of your other dietary sensitivities, the chemical “leaking” effect of non-food grade plastics might pose a health challenge.
we used to do this at our house growing up. It is kinda gross to think about it but if it hasn’t been used it works wonderfully
