Your Questions Answered – Part Four

What are some examples of information you keep in your Homemaker Notebook? So far I have a price book and a menu plan in mine. Any other ideas for encouraging a more organized/simple/efficient house are greatly appreciated!
I have moved away from keeping a paper homemaker notebook and am instead using the computer. I have a price sheet, a running list of meals that we like and meals that we would like to try, a general pattern for menu planning, a list of goals, important addresses and phone numbers, a list of birthdays and holidays and gifts we have purchased, and a calendar of our events.

When you freeze meals for eating later, how long do they typically need to sit out to thaw?
There are three ways to thaw frozen meals:
1. Stick in the oven at about 100 degrees and cook for several hours until ready to eat.
2. Set out on the counter about four hours before baking.
3. Put in the fridge 24-36 hours before baking (this gets the best results!).

What are some of your coupon sources?
When I coupon, I coupon simply: I get the Sunday paper, and watch the blog Money Saving Mom for great online coupons. Anything else just gets to be too difficult for me! Right now I am only using coupons from Money Saving Mom as we no longer purchase many items that you get coupons for because we have started making our own foods and personal care products (more on this to come very soon!). She will post great yogurt and Kashi coupons that I like to take advantage of when I can!

These questions are a great lead into a lot of my blogging ideas for posts coming up very soon!

  1. Morgan says:

mmmm… kashi cereal! Our kids love eating kashi!

Great idea requesting people to ask questions. I may try that sometime. Gives you an idea for what readers might like you to write about.
