This morning I made some powder for cream of __ soup, some Mexican rice, and cooked up some quinoa (organic – working on that 101 things list).

Then I baked some wheat bread from this recipe – delicious!

I also stemmed 5 pounds of grapes, chopped lettuce, and chopped kale for the next week!

Wow! Congrats! You accomplished a lot today!! How is quinoa? I assume it is the stuff in the bowl on the right in your picture. Never had it. You are just WAY too organized with your baking not to mention your classroom stuff! Do you have a theme all picked out for your room?
Yes the brown stuff is quinoa. It’s pretty good – it’s like a nutty rice when eaten plain. I don’t know any recipes that use it yet, but I think it will be good in other meals. Right now I eat it when I need to feel full or need energy as it’s a good source of protein.
I am so excited to move into my classroom! I don’t like to be too theme-y like a jungle, or under the sea, or anything like that because I think that I would get bored of it too easily and it really “limits” what you can get for your classroom to fit within the theme. My “theme” is a line of teacher materials called “Kid-Drawn”. Everything looks like it was colored by kids – so my theme is really just bright and happy colors! Which suits me quite nicely! I will be posting pictures of my decorating progress!
