Edit, January 2010: I have switched to using my bar of Dr. Bronners soap to wash my face as well. It cleans great and is much less drying than the baking soda. I also no longer use an astringent at all as using a natural soap has removed the need.

Basic Roll Recipe

After writing this post, I have had several people ask for the recipe that I use when making dinner rolls. Here’s what I do:
2 1/4 t. yeast
1/4 c. warm water
3/4 c. lukewarm milk
1/4 c. sugar
1 t. salt
a egg
1/4 c. butter, softened
3 1/2 – 3 3/4 c. flour

Covering Leftovers

I cannot take credit for this trick….I learned it from my mother-in-law.
In the home goods section of a store like Walmart or Bed, Bath, and Beyond you can purchase bowl covers that are plastic with elastic around the bottoms. These are usually several dollars for less than ten covers.
