Recently, God has been reminding me about how much of the world is lost and how much of the world lives in circumstances nothing like the splendor that I live in. My heart was growing heavy and I was trying to determine what God was desiring from our family in response. Then our church announces a special even this week: Compassion Sunday.
I would love to introduce our child that my husband and I “adopted” this weekend through Compassion International. Meet Nicolle:

She lives in a coastal town in northern Columbia and will be seven on August 14th. She lives with both of her parents and her three siblings. Nicolle’s father is sometimes employed and her mother keeps their home. She helps at home with cleaning and running errands. Nicolle enjoys playing with dolls, jumping rope, and playing hide-and-seek. She is currently in kindergarten and taking bible classes.
The area in which she lives typically has houses made of dirt floors, wood walls, and corrugated iron roofs. The commonly spoken language is Spanish. The diet consists of beans, bananas, fish, bread, plantains, and rice. Common illnesses are flu, stomach infections, skin diseases, parasites, and malnutrition.
We are so excited to begin building a relationship with this precious child and ask that you be in prayer for Nicolle (and her family) and she grows and develops. And hopefully, comes to know God personally.
