I have received several comments with help and tips from people who have read this blog. I though I would share some of them here to make sure that everybody has a chance to see them.

Check out Lisa Kramer’s No MSG For Me Cookbook at http://www.nomsgforme.com. I have found it very helpful and great place to start. It includes tips for shopping for MSG free products and has a list of MSG free ingredients. It makes cooking without MSG a lot easier. I made an amazing Chicken Divan last night and her chicken noodle soup tonight. My family loved them both.
(I definitely added this cookbook to my Amazon gift list!)

The trick we use is to look at organic foods – we shop in the organic section of Dillons, shop at the People’s Grocery, and when in KC we shop at Whole Foods.

I found this ebook be Lisa Burnell. I’m going to try some of these recipes this weekend. Some of the ingredients do have MSG. You have to know your ingredients but the concept of ‘make at home’ is the same. She also proposes making mixes in bulk.
I also recommend the book ‘Heal you Headaches- The 1-2-3 Program’ by Dr David Buchholz. Just had a visit with my local Neurologist today and she said this doctor is highly reputable in the migraine field. I’m following his program and haven’t had a headache for 4 days(Huge for me).
Thanks for all the help, guys! Has anybody found anymore information or helpful tips?
Please feel free to share anytime and I will be sure that they get published!

I am thinking of trying to cut out msg to see if that has any affect on my husband’s headaches. He only has migraines 1-2xs a year, but still is affected by headaches on a regular basis. Thanks for the recommendation on the book!
BTW- where was that picture of you and Cole taken up at the top of the page? Is it Colorado?
I highly recommend trying going MSG free! It may not be the cure, but it’s a really easy thing to try!
Yea, that picture was from our trip to Colorado this past summer. We went away for one night after our wedding and went on a “honeymoon” over our one year anniversary! It was fantastic!
Where in Colorado did you guys go? We are planning a trip later this year. We’re planning on camping for part of it. Hopefully gas prices stay so low!
We went to Breckenridge. It was a whole lot of fun – there are several hiking trails (including Hoosier Pass – hee!) in the area which were simply beautiful to see!
