Today I went to the school I student taught at for the first half of the semester to attend their Halloween party. When the other fourth grade teacher and I showed up there were two class-wide hugs and we were pinned to the wall by all the kids and the stories they had to share!!! It was a great time!
I had a stack of cards and some yummy goodies in my hands before I knew it and loved spending the hour talking with the kids and finding out what they’ve been doing, how their school work is going, and what books they have been reading.
I received more hugs today than I probably have on any other single day of my life! It feels good to know that you are loved – just more affirmation that this is God’s chosen mission field for me in the next few years!
All of my cards were really sweet, but one I have to share is a poem written by three girls: Rebekah, Bobbie, and Katie. It cracks me up. And it rhymes!
Mrs. Hoosier
Dear Mrs. Hoosier you’re a dear,
We wish you were here all the year.
You were awesome, you were great,
if only you could stay here late.
You’re sweet as a pie
that never dies.
You’re cool and slick
like a toothpick.
You’re as fresh as the sea,
and as shiny as a key.
You’re nice and you’re kind,
you make me blind
you also blow my mind!
To Mrs. Hoosier you’re so bright,
you make a good light.
You are so cool,
you’re not a fool.
Your teaching skills are good,
if only you lived in my neighborhood.
Yup, I miss those kiddos!
