It’s upon us…the cold weather. We’ve already pulled out the warm fleeces and sweatshirts to wear, worn our winter hats in public, and cuddled under a blanket while reading or watching tv.

I’m thrilled!
I love many aspects of the cold weather….you can read more in the cold, you can work on handiwork more in the cold, you can watch more movies in the cold, you can smell fires in the cold, you can bake without over heating the house in the cold, and you can wear coats and associated gear in the cold. Snow is beautiful. The seasonal clothes are, too. Thanksgiving, Christmas, by birthday, Cole’s birthday, and Valentines Day are all on cold days.

With all of it’s wonderfulness, there are many things that need to be done to prepare for the cold weather. I’ve heard that it’s supposed to be exceptionally cold this winter and Kansas is known for getting really good freezes in the winter.

While my husband takes care of the heater and related household tasks to prepare for the winter, I have my own list of things that need to be done to prepare for the winter at our house. Come along with me the next few weeks and let’s prepare for the cold so we can sit back and enjoy or stay safe through bad weather.
