We had a wonderful weekend over the Memorial Day holiday. We started out in Manhattan where I went to a friends Bachelorette party and Cole had a movie night with my dad and brothers. We met my family’s new dog, Greta. She’s a cutie!
Then we headed on to Ellis and enjoyed some no-power time. A tornado had gone through the town the night before leaving all houses without power. We had fun playing around outside and doing things by the light of the lanterns.

We got some target practice. I hit the can on my first shot!

We went fishing, but the fish were not to interested in biting.

Becky went fishing as well!

Cole’s Grammy is in the nursing home. Before we went to visit her I clipped these flowers and greenery to arrange for her — I think that she liked them. And they smelled beautifully.

We spent the evening cuddled up in the basement with the dogs — that’s right — more tornadoes.

When we got power back, we made some purchases on Amazon using a gift card that Rick and Cindy gave me for graduation.. Sweet Dixie and Dolly helped — I love those puppies!

Monday morning the fish were biting — I caught a large catfish! Wahoo!
It was a wonderful weekend — we were able to completely relax and enjoy some time in the great outdoors!

dadgum Vanessa, that’s a big fish! go you!
