baby gift

Our friends, who had three little boys, had a baby girl a little over a week ago. This, of course, meant an opportunity to make a baby gift. This time I decided to try my hand at making a taggie blanket. Since so often, children love to play with the little tags on stuffed animals and blankets, someone had the bright idea to make a blanket with nothing but taggies to be played with. I used pink fleece for the body of the blanket and sewed a variety of cute black and white ribbons into the blanket edges. I also embroidered her name — just for fun! The project was a whole lot of fun to create!

I used to love the taggies! I wish I’d had one of those when I was a kid. My family just eventually learned that if they wanted me to like the stuffed animal they gave me, it had to have the correct kind of tag…

That is so cute! What a neat idea–Now, for your next project, you’re going to have to figure out how to attach a bunch of empty boxes to some ribbons for a birthday or Christmas present! :-)
