My family sponsors two children in Africa: Jimmy and Maria. They are survivors in a country where most people have HIV or AIDS. These two children are about the same age as my baby brother, Caleb, though their ages cannot be known for sure. They are about five years old. It amazes me to think about what their lives could have been as abandoned orphans and then to think about what their lives are like with at the Christian children’s home that they live in. We get updated pictures and information at various points throughout the year. This year we heard that little Jimmy is HIV positive; we are optimistic, however, because he is receiving wonderful health care. Both Jimmy and Maria are wonderful students and doing very well in school–which is good news! Let me share with you their sweet sweet faces:
